Career Technical Education Program (CTE)
The CTE Designated Subjects Credential Program is a pathway to earning a clear Career Technical Education Teaching Credential. NCSOE’s accredited CTE Credential Program is designed for New Credential Holders (individuals who have never held a teaching credential) and Existing Credential Holders (individuals that already hold a teaching credential). Our program offers a sequence of coursework designed to prepare teachers for any CTE industry sector.
We offer three distinct pathways to earning a clear CTE credential depending on several factors including: CTE teaching assignment/employment and Clear California Credentials already held. Coursework to clear the credential begins each August. Enrollment for Fall 2025 will open May 1st and close September 30th.
- New Credential Holder (Extended) - for those who DO NOT have a CTE course teaching assignment; do not hold a previous clear teaching credential.
(4 semesters with Mentor support; Candidate pays tuition and Mentor fees.) - New Credential Holder - For teachers who are teaching at least one CTE course in a public school; do not hold a previous clear teaching credential.
(4 semesters with Mentor support; district often pays tuition and Mentor fees). - Existing Credential Holder - For teachers who are teaching at least one CTE course AND already hold a clear CA teaching credential.
