NCSOE MAC303 Mentor Academy: Coaching & Mentoring - Developing your Knowledge 11/20/19 (Virtual)
Mentors demonstrate knowledge of coaching, mentoring, and adult-learning development and can identify and respond to the unique and diverse needs of new teachers. This Academy provides an introductory foundation to understanding adult learning theory, the differences between coaching and mentoring, models and types of mentoring as well as skills and mindsets for mentors. Mentors apply skills and discuss differentiated case studies as well as reflect and make a commitment to further developing their mentoring practice. This course is appropriate for new teacher leaders/mentors working with or who are interested in working with participants in the North Coast Teacher Induction Program, the Intern Support & Supervision Program, or the Permit Holders Program and satisfies the requirement of attending at least 3 Mentor Academies a year.
