Technology Uses in Education - Designated Subjects

This is an online course designed to help Designated Subjects candidates fulfill their technology credential requirement. This is specific to those who hold a Designated Subjects CTE/AE Credential. It includes eight online modules addressing the following topics:

  • Role of technology in education
  • Designing effective activities with technology
  • Education and the Internet
  • Monitoring student progress with technology
  • Information literacy
  • Supporting all learners with technology

A mandatory orientation meeting, Wednesday, January 26, will cover course requirements and provide an introduction to the online environment. Online content will be delivered weekly from February 1 through March 25. Students must have access to a Windows or Macintosh computer that is capable of Internet communication.


Important registration information
Registration for this class is a two-step process.

Step 1: Complete registration and attend the mandatory orientation meeting. This class is covered under program tuition for North Coast Designated Subjects Program participants and $100 for all others.

Step 2: Units are available if desired. Information for this registration process will be provided during orientation. An additional fee will apply for the two units. If you have any questions, contact the NCSOE office at (707) 524-2818.
